Code of Conduct

Steamwork Center is dedicated to providing a productive, personal and professional development environment to all members. We value your participation, as well as our other members, guests, instructors and staff.

As such, we expect all participants to follow these rules at all events and online.
All adults are welcome at our events and will be treated with equal respect.
All communication should be appropriate for a professional audience.
All participants should be given a chance to contribute to the conversation.
All viewpoints are a valid representation of the participant’s views and should be respected.
While critical thinking is vitally important, attacking, criticizing, demeaning, shaming or bullying another participant is not acceptable.

Your privacy is important to us.
Photographs may be taken in class and shared by members or staff without verbal and/or written consent of the attendees.
If a group photograph is taken, your participation will serve as your agreement to the use of such a photograph for promotional purposes.
If you are uncomfortable having your photograph shared by group members or staff, please let us know immediately and please refrain from posing in photos.

We do not tolerate harassment in any form.
Harassment includes offensive verbal comments related to gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity or religion; sexual images in public spaces; deliberate intimidation; stalking; following; harassing photography or recording; sustained disruption of talks or other events; inappropriate physical contact; and unwelcome sexual attention.
Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.

Organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, including warning the offender or expelling them from the space, class, event or meeting with no refund. Offenders can also be removed and/or blocked from online conversations as well.

If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact Steamwork Center staff immediately.
Staff will be happy to help members contact local law enforcement, provide escorts when possible and with reasonable notice, or otherwise assist those experiencing harassment to feel safe for the duration of the event/class.

If you have any questions, please contact us.
